Stories from Mazda 3 Owners

Jeffrey H. - Connecticut, USA

My 2005 Mazda3 sedan was parked in Montreal this weekend, and was broken into using the same technique - there is now a very noticeable dent just above my driver's door handle. Do you know if Mazda will still reimburse the owner $100 for an alarm system even though it is past March 1, 2008? I just bought this car used a few weeks ago and I'm so mad about this!

I'm going to be sure to tell all my friends who drive Mazda 3s to beware!

I have bad news. My car was broken into in Montreal, QC, but I actually live in Connecticut, USA. Those letters were sent out by Mazda Canada, and the reinforcement bars and $100 rebates on shock sensors are only for Mazda3's in Canada. I called Mazda USA yesterday and they were extremely unhelpful and rude. They denied any sort of liability and said that the Mazda3 is NOT defective, despite everything that is going on (most in Canada). The customer service manager finally admitted that he had heard of mazda3s getting broken into in that fashion, but only a few cases in the US - not enough cases to do anything about. I'm so frustrated. I don't know what to do. I'm going to try contact the local news and see if the media can pick it up. It might make things worse with theft and Mazda3s, but the way I see it, it has to get worse before it gets better.

Hi

This dent/entrance problem is the only reason I didn't consider this vehicle. Imagine having a car that is known to disengage the alarm and unlock the power locks just by denting a body panel.
